Why are crowns recommended?

The Benefits of CEREC Technology

The traditional process for receiving dental crowns first involved taking messy goop impressions that were uncomfortable for most patients. Then, these impressions were sent to a dental lab so a technician could create the new dental crown. This process generally took two or more weeks, during which time the patient wore a temporary restoration. When the final crown was ready, the patient would return to the office for a final fitting before having it bonded to their tooth. With CEREC technology, we can eliminate all these uncomfortable steps and provide the following benefits:

  • A new dental crown in one visit
  • No goopy impressions
  • No uncomfortable temporaries
  • Attractive, strong restoration
  • Custom-made for a perfect fit
  • Treatment from cosmetic dentists

Our One-Visit Treatment Process

What we love most about our CEREC treatment process is that we can offer our patients a completely digital experience in a single appointment! You won’t even need to endure conventional and uncomfortable impressions. We’ll use our iTero® intraoral scanner to capture high-resolution images of your damaged tooth. These scans are incredibly precise, and will be used to design your new dental crown in our CAD/CAM software. Next, the finalized design will be sent to our in-house milling machine where your dental crown will be made. This entire process takes only a few hours. While you’re resting comfortably in the chair, we’ll be creating your new tooth and before you know it, we’ll have your new dental crown in place. You’ll leave our office with a fully restored tooth that looks and functions naturally!
